THE LECTURE ON 1930's IRISH BROADCASTING

I have recently begun delivering lectures of the history of 1930's Irish Broadcasting. I will be delivering the over the next couple of weeks at a venue to be confirmed tickets costing €8 (€5 Unwaged or OAP).
The Lecture lasts 70 minutes with a powerpoint presentation and a 15 minute Q & A session after. The main points of the lecture are

The first conviction under the Wireless Telegraphy Act for illegal broadcasting of a pirate radio station. The sometime hilarious battle to put them off the air.

'Plugging a record' has an Irish connection as Radio Eireann becomes an off shore pirate radio station.

The IRA Broadcasting Station of 1939 which led to the death of the only man in the world to die in jail on hunger strike having been convicted of running a pirate radio station.
